Stage Hypnosis , has been the Marketing arm of Hypnotherapy , for many years !

People have marvelled at Stage Hypnosis , and Stage Hypnotists , for over a hundred years and more. The power that the Hypnotist , seemingly has , over the Minds and actions , of volunteers from the audience , has apart from entertaining the audiences, led directly to the invention , of Hypnotherapy / Clinical Hypnosis and it's spin-offs !

There seems to be talk , about "banning" Stage Hypnosis" , by some Governments , around the world , and indeed in the UK , any premises , in which a Hypnotist 's show, is to be staged , has to have a License , agreed by the Local Authority.

Hypnosis , has been used , as an Anaesthetic , in the First World War and beyond, with Patients who have had Limbs routinely removed , to save their lives.

In more recent times April 2006, Live Surgery has been performed on Television , on patients using , only Hypno-analgaesia. Doctors , Surgeons and the General Public , were quite rightly , amazed at the Power of the Human Mind, over the Unavoidable , (or so it was previously thought) Panic and pain reactions , of the flesh being cut into , by a Surgeons knife.....

Veterinary Surgeons, who became aware of this phenomenom , were quick to point out , that the same operations on animals , would be forbidden by law....and could result in a Veterinary Surgeon , being struck off , if he attempted such a thing , with an animal !

They were also quick to point out , that although a Veterinary Surgeon , could perform Surgery on a Human Being and stay within the law.....a Doctor / Surgeon , was forbidden by law....to operate on animals !

And so what were the conclusions of the Hypno-surgery ?

1. Muscle tension , was erradicated , which facilitated , the operation , to be performed successfully and easily.

2. The amount of bleeding , was considerably less , than normal sugery with Anaesthetics!

3. Anti-biotics , were unneccessary , because the Immune System , did not deplete itself, fighting the Anaesthetics.

4. All vital life signs were more stable, than in an every day operation , with Anaesthetics.

5. Less stress for the patient .

6. Faster return to a normal , healthy life!

7. Faster healing process !

You may ask , why I have quoted the above , on a Stage Hypnosis Topic ?

My belief is , that without the publicity , given , by the Stage Hypnotists , over the years....the "Pain Control" aspects , healing aspects , may never have been discovered.

Every day , Stage Hypnotists , the World over , come up with new ideas , new innovations....new Phenomena......

Why destroy or ban , the very catalyst and creator, of these wonderful phenomena, when we are only on the Beginning of the Voyage of Discovery, and we have so much more to learn ?
